When I found this eBay listing for a pro street Cadillac limo I winced when I clicked the link to see more. I was expecting to see one of the great shining disasters that had ever been foisted upon the automotive world. Instead I found a professionally built creation that is completely bad but amazingly awesome at the same time. According to the seller, this pro street Cadillac limo was built by National Coach in 1984. We’re not sure if that means they built the entire thing, the chassis, or what but the reality is that from front to back this looks professionally done. It is gawdy and 100% trapped in the 1980s but it isn’t hacked together. The interior tin work is really well done, the paint is nice (in quality), the under car shot seems to indicate lots of pro grade fabrication work, and the underhood treatment was also not done by a hack, either.
Power comes from a blown big block Chevy engine, the rear end is a Ford 9-inch and it wears Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pros on each end. The transmission is a Turbo 400 and the driveshaft can be measured in miles. We have no idea if it was built as a promotional tool by National Coach or if it was commissioned by a hair band or some other type of customer like a brothel or something. Who else would do this? Why else would it have been built? Is it wrong to really want to see it charge down a drag strip? These are just a couple of the 6,432 questions we have about the history and construction of the limo. There is an ISCA sticker in the truck, so maybe this one made the show circuit back in the day? Does anyone remember seeing it on display at a World of Wheels show?
There’s so much going on here I barely even know where to start.

That thing is so bad it’s good. I love it! It needs a stereo that plays nothing but whitesnake cassettes. That thing is begging to be the new Bangshift mobile command center. Bring on the denim jackets and tuxedo t-shirts!
My only complaint with this thing is that it could’ve had one of those gigantic big block caddy engines. But I guess this thing being an 80s machine would be hard to smog on an older motor.
Does the TV have a digital receiver? If not, you’re watching snow. I hope the vehicle is stocked with VCR tapes (First Blood, Rambo, Rocky films, Red Dawn, Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Blues Brothers, Risky Business, etc.). It should also come with Bobbie Brown, the chicks from the ZZ Top videos of the ’80s, the “Hot for Teacher” teacher, Christie Brinkley, and a wardrobe consisting of linen suits, tee shirts, and loafers (no socks).
Please don’t forget “Falling Down”…
That should be a part of any of the limo fleets in Vegas.
Can you imagine slowly easing this Caddy up to the base of Chad’s scaffold at the March Meet to say, “Hi!”?
Hey, I drew that when I was 11!
1981 was the last year of the Series 72 limo chassis from Caddy. National Coach cut it and stretched it. Hence the name “stretch limo”. The square bottom rear doors show it was a Series 72. The back seat is completely behind the door. Same chassis Caddy used for hearses back then.
I agree it would’ve been cooler with a blown Caddy 500 under the hood. The combination race car aluminum interior panels with the luxo Caddy leather is really different and cool. Done very well.
I saw this car@ the “world of wheels” car show, @ the Ohio State fair grounds, back in the 80’s , If I remember right, it was owned by someone, here in Ohio, I remember when the show was over, the driver was doing several “burps” on its way out. I do know it had open headers !!!!
