Respect Your Elders: This 1967 Corvette Screams Down The Colorado Airfield!

There isn’t a wrong time to lose your cool over a second-generation Corvette. It doesn’t matter if the driver of the car is the most prototypical ‘Vette owner you could dream up. That C2 makes up for a lot of khaki shorts, New Balance shoes, and white shirts. Doesn’t matter if it is bone stock or not, so long as the “oh, sweet Lord” lines of the Stingray haven’t been messed with. Drag race, road race, perfect restoration…the C2 is a timeless design, elegant at certain angles and just straight-up f*cking mean in others. We like that last part better…these are muscle Vettes, the years where big-blocks ruled all and when buying the baser models still meant you got a pissed-off 327 under the hood. If you want to wax poetic about the good old days, this isn’t a bad place to start.

This C2 is a lot of 1960s sexiness, but under the hood you can have some 1990s flashbacks, thanks to the twin-turbocharged LT-1 under the hood. We don’t mean modern-day, we mean TPI-style, last of the small-block Chevrolets that is doing the heavy work in-between those shapely fenders. Some will scream for an older engine, others will cry for an LS. Far as we’re concerned, it works…why change a thing?

    1. Raul X. Garcia

Perhaps Joey Heatherton. Still would have preferred a properly built 327. Fuelie heads, Dunstov 30/30, 850 single feed, double pump spread bore. 4:11 12 bolt to seal the deal.
