Respect Your Elders: This 528-Inch Hemi ‘Cuda Will Take On All Comers!

Respect Your Elders: This 528-Inch Hemi ‘Cuda Will Take On All Comers!

That thing got a Hemi? Yeah, sonny, you’re damn right it does, and it’s got a little somethin’-somethin’ for you too. There’s a reason why anything with the name Hemi attached to it has an immediate presence…even in their weakest forms, the work well and in their top-tier forms, they are ass-kickers even by modern standards. If it can make a barge of a New Yorker feel sporty, a Hemi mill with the proper love and care can install the fear of God into the guy in the next lane, even before a power adder is applied. First, second or third-gen, it doesn’t matter…that is an engine that you will respect. You might be able to beat it, but even if it’s the respect given to an enemy in combat, you WILL respect it.

Looking at Randy Heinselman’s AAR-cloned 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda will tell you at first glance that this isn’t a restoration wearing slicks by a long shot, sure. But 528 cubic inches of aluminum Hemi and a row-your-own box inside, it’s nothing to take lightly. But will it take on a brand-new Demon, ready to rock? Even for one of the baddest musclecars to come out of the era, even though it’s worked over nicely and has cleaned up at Drag Week, that’s still a battle that has to be run to be seen.
