Tony Bartone, Steve Boggs, and the rest of the crew have been romping and stomping their way through every round of competition they have seen this year. The car has won ever race it has appeared at since winning the 2013 New England Hot Rod Reunion. Completing the full turn, the video below shows Bartone running his nostalgia top fueler running 271mph through the lights at Epping shutting off early and grabbing the win over Jim Young. The 271mph run is one of the fastest ever made for a front engine top fuel car. It is not THE fastest, but it sure is right up there. At the end of the video there’s a bit of a discussion between Bartone and some of his guys where he says, “Let me say one thing….wait till Bakersfield.” The then references the fact that he won’t be shutting anything off early out there and this all seems to add up to the notion that Bartone and Boggs will have the car absolutely set on kill to once again meet their west coast competition. It was a huge deal this spring when Bartone was able to win the March Meet and slay all comers. Doing it again to those guys in their own house would be pretty freaking huge.
