Ride With Dave Davidson As He Goes 255mph At El Mirage IN The 911 Blown Fuel Roadster

The other day we showed you video of the Cummins, Davidson, and Beck 911 Blown Fuel Roadster ripping across the packed silt at El Mirage during the opening meet of the 2016 SCTA season. Today we’re actually putting you inside the car to ride with Dave Davidson as he works the wheel and punches the button to get this monster up to speed. As you will see, at lower speeds the ride is rough as hell and Davidson really has to be ginger with the gas pedal when getting the thing rolling because of the surface and the mind-boggling amount of power that the car makes.

We were impressed with the fact that despite its short wheelbase the car does not seem to want to turn itself around when accelerating. This may be because of all the slippage that the tires have in the dirt. It is fun to watch Davidson punch the buttons to shift the transmission as the car is picking up speed. You can see the ferocity of the deceleration when the parachute hits and Davidson’s whole self lurches forward.

The sound of the big hemi working away is pretty awesome and we can imagine that the concentration level involved with using the throttle just enough but not too much has a steep learning curve involved with it. You’ll see that right after Davidson shifts the car he gets into a rough patch and he gets jostled around pretty good. For anyone who was wondering what the surface was like at El Mirage this should give you some sort of an indication. Once he is making speed, the car seems to drive really nice and the ground below it seems smooth but wow is there some movement going on there just before the 2:00 mark in the video.

The 911 is awesome and this is a great perspective on just how awesome it is!
