The boys are back and this time they are cruising the car we watched them build in the last episode clear across the USA from LA to Concord, North Carolina for the kick off of the Power Tour that happened last month. The guys thrashed and thrashed on the car in typical fashion and basically got it done about 2o minutes before they had to leave to make the driver east if they had any hope of getting there on time. You may not consider it impressive to hop into a car with two miles on it and then set out to go 2,500 but we do! Making the trip even neater are a couple of stops along the way at places like a Chevy dealer (for repairs), the shop of the Street Outlaw guys (for bench racing and repairs), and several scenic roadside vistas (for repairs). Oh, they also got to spend the day with Rut Wood from American Top Gear and shoot the breeze which is fun. You’ll be happily surprised at what Wood says about Freiburger and Finnegan along with the whole Roadkill scene.
All the credit to the Roadkill boys on this one as they had a concept, stuck with it, and managed to make a successful trans-continental crossing in it. The hairy moments along the way make the story very interesting but the guys didn’t encounter any catastrophic issues and the problems they did have, they were able to handle and keep the whole circus moving. Our jealousy meter spiked the first time we saw ’em rowing that American Powertrain shifted six speed manual transmission. How cool is that?!
Congrats to the guys on a job well done and a Corona well earned.

Such a wicked car.
Definitely one of the better episodes. It is neat to Finnegan finally owning and driving a car he has dreamed about his whole life.
I realize both DF and Finney are from SoCal where it never rains in summer, but was surprised that neither of thought to bring “rain” tires on their trip. Both of them have been on enough Drag Weeks and Power Tours in the rain to know it happens.
The 55 is drop dead nutz ….. The hemi is the best thing that ever happened to a Chevy …… It is the a Gearheads’ testament to the fact that
…… ” Given the right engine ….. a brick [ shoebox ] can fly ” ……. Well done Mr. Finnegan , Mr. Freiburger .
I am a fan
It’s such a satisfying feeling to ” STICK IT TO A PURIST “
That trip would be one for the bucket list. Driving a Gasser style 55 Chevy!
Well done F & F!
Love this “Roadkill” episode the best of any they have done.
I’ve enjoyed Hot Rod magazine a lot more in recent years, and I think these guys are a big reason for that.
That thing is just awesome! Between having a Hemi with fuel injection, the stance, the wheel combo it just looks great! Good job guys!
My two favorites together…’55 Chevy and a Hemi. Keep the Roadkill video’s coming, they are great.
