Danny Rowe raced to his first victory of the 2015 season in the J&A Service Pro Mod portion of the NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway. It is the eighth of 10 events in the 2015 NHRA Pro Mod season.
Rowe introduced a brand new supercharged Agave Underground Tequila Corvette into competition at this event and he put it to good use, powering past the competition from the No. 2 qualifying position. He outran Dan Stevenson, Jim Whiteley and Steven Whiteley to advance to the final.
In the final he defeated Eric Latino to earn his fifth career victory with a performance of 5.941 seconds at 245.09 mph. Latino trailed with a 5.950 at 244.92 in his ’69 Camaro.
With the victory, Rowe moved to seventh in the points standings, 107 back of series leader Mike Janis, who was defeated in the opening round of eliminations. Troy Coughlin and Billy Glidden follow Janis in points.
The NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series continues next weekend with the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park near St. Louis.
