(Photos by Bryan McTaggart) – When the dust settled and the action ended at about 2 AM east coast time, the 2014 Street Car Super Nationals Anarchy Under the Arch had produced the quickest and fastest runs for door cars in the history of drag racing. While the crowd was not as big as the PSCA would have liked mostly due to the oppressive heat, the people that were at the race saw one of the greatest shows that they’re ever going to see. After a three night barrage of huge speeds and deep single digit elapsed times, the online audience was clamoring for more. What happens next with regard to outlaw pro mods is anyone’s guess but this race will have a long lasting impact on the world of straight line competition. There were guys planning on showing up at the Street Car Super Nationals in Las Vegas to try and run 270mph but their thunder got totally stolen by the competitors in St Louis. Can you imagine what these cars would be running in air that wasn’t 100 degrees and full of water?! Holy smokes, the mind reels.
McTaggart blasted photos galore over the course of the event and the stuff was great. This gallery is the final one of the weekend and it showcases the elimination rounds of the event which took place on Saturday night into Sunday morning. We want to thank the PSCA and head honcho Mel Roth for allowing us to broadcast the event and all the great sponsors what make it happen. Bryan did a great job on the photos and here’s his “grand finale” from the weekend.
