(By Greg Rourke) – Everyone loves a good sleeper, except perhaps the guy in the other lane. Here we have a guy who’s happy to embarrass whatever supercar is unlucky enough to choose him.
The 2002 Nissan Maxima is not the first thing one thinks of when shopping for a performance car. Which makes it a perfect sleeper. Apparently the 3.5 liter V6 takes to the usual performance mods like I take to Chicago style hot dogs. And this gentleman Marcos Chavez knows exactly how to exploit the potential of this mill.
Here we have a dragstrip in Mexico where the owner of a Porsche 911 GT2 has decided to humiliate himself by lining up with a four door sedan. Marcos has brought a passenger along to capture the action, and it appears they have Telemundo on the infotainment system in case they get bored. A quick Google shows the Porsche is capable of 10’s in the quarter mile, but we don’t see any cage or harnesses in the Nissan, but Marcos crosses himself quickly before the run for protection. Also note the rosary on the mirror, not taking any chances. The Porsche stays with the Nissan for a while, but at the top end Senor Chavez just motors on past him for the win. And talk about eye of the tiger, his expression doesn’t change the entire time. He had a job to do, and it’s done.
Some say the Porsche driver just drove off the end of the track and into the sunset, never to be heard from again.
Buy Bye !!
Or should I say… Adios !!
Even with the extra weight of the passenger… Can’t hold him back
Banging shifts all the way!
The driver looks like El Chapo
Spanish rice rocket !
Oh my God
