In this situation, there’s only one tactful and polite thing to do and that is to buy this Renault van with a Rolls Royce Viper turbine mounted in the back. The van is for sale in England, the home of politeness and tact and since we don’t want to see anything get weird or uncomfortable here, just buy the thing. Look, it appears to have been well constructed, the engine is a never used piece that was bought through a military surplus sale of some sort, the thing is solidly welded into the back of the van while sitting on its original stand, so you know that’ll hold up, the rear hatch door has been modified to accommodate the tail cone of the engine and even the suspension has been beefed up. Honestly, we have no idea why someone built this thing but it is pretty awesome in our book.
The engine has been modified to self start off of batteries mounted in the van and while it isn’t the most wild turbine in existence, it would put on a cool show and certainly scare the crap out of anyone in a couple hundred yard basis when it is fired up. The Viper C201 engine is primarily used in drone planes and other small craft like that. From what we can tell, converting its available thrust into horsepower gets you somewhere in the 800 range. The van is NOT shaft driven. This is a thrust situation only. We should mention that the original van engine is present and accounted for so that you can zip to the store for groceries or take the kids around sans turbine.
What else can we say, this is a freaking turbine powered mini-van. The thing has been bid up to less than 1,000 English pounds so it can still be had for a bargain. Shipping may be a little tough to get it back to the USA and customs would probably be full of questions but what does any of that matter? BUY THE VAN –
