It was Stevie Fast Jackson, driving the famed Shadow 2.0 Camaro who drove to the $50,000 grand prize at Lights Out 9 last weekend. That’s the short story. The longer story is shown below and it gives the round by round, run by run account of how Keith Haney and Stevie Fast met in one of the most awesome final rounds the event has ever seen. Beyond Haney and Jackson it was the talent of their crews that got them there as well. Jackson being backed by Phil Shuler, Mark Savage, Jack Barbee, and the rest of the boys while Haney had the talented Brandon Pesz and Brandon Switzer making the tuning calls on the chassis and engine tune.
This video shows every run in RvW competition and it is great because you can really see how things shaped up. Jackson and his teammate Jeff Sitton had identical elapsed times in qualifying with Sitton’s car running .6 mph faster than Jackson for the first qualifying position. Haney qualified in the mid 3.80s and made a string of his best career runs ever in his Enigma Camaro that was built by Larry Jeffers Race Cars a few years back.
This was an incredible race from top to bottom. Not just the final, but the whole way through. Radial vs The World competition is as professional and hardcore as anything in the sport. These guys pull in with full rigs, they service the cars with full crews, and they run down the track lightning fast and with more consistency than ever before.
Huge props to Wade Rich at South Georgia Motorsports Park for his tireless work on the race track and for delivering a surface these fellas could get their hooks into by the end of the weekend. This was one class at a huge race but damn if it was not the most exciting!
I watched more of this race than any before and I have to say that you do a great job on the mic! Keep up the good work. You, Lee, and Willie Dog did a great job. And you and Willie Dog going back and forth was great.
