(Vintage photos by Bob Boudreau) – I was pretty shocked and happily so at the response my recent story about the history of pro stock and the fact that only 61 people have ever won in the class’s now 46 year history. Over the years we have published nearly 20,000 stories and I have written a lot of them about drag racing stuff, history, etc. This one really struck a nerve more than most in that genre and it was fun to both educate and enlighten people as to what the actual history of pro stock racing looks like. Winning a pro stock race is one of the most difficult things in the world of motorsports to do. The numbers bear it out and they also bear out that there have been an incredibly talented and driven group of people that have raced the class over the years.
So some of you were wondering who the 61 people that have ever won in pro stock were and what order they fell in. Well, because I am a dork of epic proportions, here’s the list as I have compiled it of the 61 winners in the history of NHRA pro stock:

Very impressive list. Is there anyway you could give the number of wins for each driver—and the # of championships ?
nhra.com to drivers to career records to career wins in Pro Stock for the top 25 in order
LoneWolf 573 go to NHRA.com to Drivers to Career Records and Pro Stock wins and you will have the top 25 in order which of course starts with WJ
Good stuff. The time gaps between those entries is interesting.
Always thought Ronnie Sox won the 1st NHRA race.
