eBay Find: This 1986 Dodge Daytona Is Retro Perfection – Going Pro Street? Go ALL IN!

We live in a world where people are often afraid to fully commit these days. This is especially true when it comes to cars. Guys want to build cars and trucks that are good at everything. They want them to accelerate, corner, and cruise like nothing that has ever been built. There was a magical era where people would commit to a singular idea and execute it to the moon. We know it as the golden age of pro street and this 1986 Dodge Daytona, known as the Tiltona is a shining example. The body opens up like a transformer, it has huge wheel tubs, a worked big block, and those big n’ littles that any pro street fan knows and loves.

Sure, many of you out there may scoff at a car like this because it is not the multi-purpose automotive swiss army knife that today’s hot rodding world seems to demand but we love it. Kids must freak when they see this this thing and it reminds us of the magazine coverage of the Car Craft Summer Nationals and other big shows we lived and died on in the 1990s.

The car looks very well constructed. The shot of the underside of it is proof that no expense was spared and apparently no detail was seen as too small to miss. The seller talks of the build taking about a decade and a half and if the guy did the whole thing himself, we can totally see it. The engine makes like 550hp and it is hooked to a Torqueflite transmission with a narrowed 8 3/4 inches rear axle packed with 3.55 gears. That’s something that can be driven around for sure.

Maybe you hate it but our inner 13 year old is in love right now.

This is one wild build! The other Daytona is still better IMO. They still produce Super Trapp mufflers?
