Gettin’ Down On The Farm: Check Out This Kansas Grudge Race On An Old Private Farm Airstrip

This is a pretty wild and awesome video from our pals at Urban Hillybilly. Why? Well it’s a grudge racing style event being held on some really freaky asphalt that’s actually an ancient private farm airstrip. There’s cool spots and then there’s cool spots. This is about the neatest spot we have seen for an event like this. Why? It’s not endangering the public, it’s something unique, and it harks back to the earliest days of the sport of drag racing when the only bad place to race was no place to race.

Yes, we know. Dangerous, risky, no walls, no discernible safety systems in place, etc. The people here signed off on that and are accepting it. They are not going to pile their cars into on coming traffic, they are not going to run into a busload of nuns, and that makes this way better than the street to us.

The cars are a mix of mild to wild and the runs are a mix of mild to wild as well. The good news is that no one wrecks their stuff, the air strip is left in the same condition they found it but with some more rubber, and we’re guessing that everyone who was at this deal will be back for the next impromptu drag race in the middle of a farm in Kansas.

It’s old school cool.
