While 2020 put the squash on drag racing during the early Spring, the sport has really been very active since about May right up until the present. There’s racing happening on all levels across the country and because of that there’s been some scary moments, some amazing saves, and some genuine head scratching wrecks as well. This video captures the wildest runs of 2020 so far and it’s a pretty good take. We’re thankful that all of the drivers involved in the incidents shown here were OK and while their cars were damaged, they’re mended up.
It’s funny to see the footage from the early parts of the year. You’ll see an absolutely jam packed South Georgia Motorsports Park for Lights Out 11 which happened in February. That was a race I happened to announce and seeing some of the craziness from the place actually felt like I was watching video from three years ago. This year has felt that long.
From X275 to Radial vs The World to Pro Mod and grudge racing, this one has some nuttiness for any fan of drag racing, especially one who is chomping at the bit to get back out to the track.
We’re thankful that the sport continues to battle through these times and that the tracks are being supported by the racers. Pretty much everyone one of the people in this video had to go support their local chassis shop as well. Yikes.
