Watch Krawiec, Stanfield, Tommy Johnson Jr, and Tony Schumacher Win Final Rounds In Houston – Wild Stuff!

Watch Krawiec, Stanfield, Tommy Johnson Jr, and Tony Schumacher Win Final Rounds In Houston – Wild Stuff!

It was a rip-roaring finish to the second to last race of the 2020 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series. Four final rounds that saw only one winner who had done it this season already. Eddie Krawiec was zero for his last nine finals coming into the trophy run in Houston, Tommy Johnson is having a near career car and needed to beat Ron Capps to pull within two rounds of Matt Hagan before the last race of the year, Tony Schumacher missed an entire year and had not won since Bristol 2018, and Aaron Stanfield had won in every other car he’d ever driven except his pro stocker. That all changed on Sunday.

The Dodge NHRA finals are coming this weekend and within that race, we’ll lock down champions. There was question at the start of this year whether it would be “worth it” to run a season. Whether the champions would have had to actually earn their spots or not, and whether the shortened season would make people like the champs would need an asterisk next to their names. Those questions do not exist anymore.

It has been intense and grueling and awesome and it all comes to a head this upcoming weekend.

  1. Piston Pete

It was a great event, the only good thing about Shoe winning was that he kept Torrence within reach (barely) for Dougie, although it was an impressive performance.
T.J. really stepped up to make a run to Vegas where I hope he can pull it off over Beckman in 2nd, Hagan can go pound sand. And Capps proved once again that win or lose, he and his team are BadAsses.
It was cool to see Stanfield double up by also winning Factory Stock, good job.
Kudos to Krawiec for putting H-D back in the winners circle, but MSR’s got the sho’ nuff mustard to take it all this year.
The 2020 champions should have an asterisk next to their names. Not that they didn’t win or deserve to be champion, but as a footnote to acknowledge that it was a different type of season. I’ll feel the same way even if my man Kalitta can pull it of, or my Dodgers for that matter.
