Build Biology: Take A Tour of This Twin Turbo LSX Powered Mustang That Rips on 10.5W Tires

Our pals over at Hoonigan have wide ranging tastes and interested, right? These guys run a constant stream of awesome stuff through their shop and whether they are burning out on a loading dock or jumping stuff, they know how to have fun. Brian Scotto sent us a note and tipped us off to this video that profiles the twin turbocharged LSX powered, 10.5W tire equipped 1994 Mustang of Brandon Weber. This car really represents the modern look of small tire drag racing. While there are more and more radial cars out there, a dedicated legion of competitors continues to push the boundaries of performance and coolness with 10.5 tires. It was really the 10.5 tire that started this whole world of “small tire” drag racing back in the day, right? We all remember those glory days.

This car represents and displays the modern technologically advanced drag car. The engine is bad ass and uses some really cool stuff to manage the boost and allow Weber to squeeze the most out of every run. There’s electronic fuel injection, there’s traction control, and there’s a chassis that is the product of decades years of acquired knowledge and expertise in the world of small tire racing.

One of the reasons that people really love this style of drag racing is the fact that the cars look like cars. This baby still has a sunroof a full dash, a working radio, and more. It is reminiscent of a car that Weber owned in high school and that in and of itself is cool.

The Hoonigan guys love all different kinds of cool cars, this is an awesome way for Hoonigan fans that do not know about this style of hot rod to get educated. Well done, boys!

    If dweebs that insist on powering Fords with Chevy motors keep on getting publicity their disease will spread. Just ignore them and they will just go away and concentrate on building that Chevy powered ass-plunger that they have always dreamed of!
