Drag racers in Europe are hard core because they have to be. As we understand the scene, there aren’t a lot (or any) tracks that run weekly test-n-tune sessions, grudge nights, or most of the normal junk we’re used to here in the USA. That being said, racers need to get the most out of the few chances they have to hit the strip every year and this guy in the Monza is certainly doing that.
We think that any wheelie high enough to rip the rear license plate off and long enough to allow the viewer to think, “Holy Sh$t” is BS qualified. The strip was hooking damned hard to get the Monza into such a state. Judging by the way the car landed, this is a wheelie prone machine. Lesser front suspensions would have folded up like tin foil under stresses like these.
This Monza demonstrates the term, “dead hook” to a T. It hooked and booked….to the moon!
Press play to see a Monza desperately try to become and airplane –
Looks like Kjula Dragway just South of Stockholm. Friendliest Track in Sweden.
Nice. If you get out of shape, there are no Jersey barriers or guard rails to demolish your car. I likey.
