Yes, it may sound weird to say that this is a fun video about old school drag racing crashes, but, well, it is. Bobby Bennett of CompetitionPlus.com got a group of drag racers, crew chiefs, and even a crummy announcer together to watch and give some narration/back story to a collection of historic drag racing wrecks, the likes of which you may have never seen before. From Ed McCulloch pitching a blower at Buster Couch to guys like Tim Grose barrel rolling down a guardrail, there are some real doozies in here.
The video was made in the pits of the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals in Charlotte earlier this year and frankly, it was pretty fun to sit, watch, react, and share any information that I had stored up in the back of my head. We did not get a preview of the video, we just sat and watched so all the reactions you will see are genuine. No one was able to “rehearse” their reactions or parts before seeing the video.
Word is that Bobby is going to be making a series of these Top 10 videos. Judging by how fun this one is to watch, we think that he has a hit on his hands.
