The glory of drag and drive events is centered around the struggle to not only compete, but the struggle to finish. That’s what Luke Nieuwhof went looking for when he took on the ambitious project of making a movie account of Sick Week 2022 and boy did he ever achieve it. This work is fantastic and in our opinion sets the mark for others to follow in covering their own events. Since the video debuted a little while back, it has received rave reviews and many people ave said it’s made them mark their calendars and compete in a drag and drive event for the first time.
This is a wonderfully cinematic day by day accounting of the race. It began in Bradenton, Florida, rained out in Orlando, headed to Gainesville, hammered SGMP, and then went south to finish up where it began in Bradenton. As you will see, along the route between those tracks the fun, the friendships, the heartache, the struggle, and the guts of competitors are highlighted.
Yeah, Sick Week is a race, but it’s a life-changing experience. Enjoy this look at an incredible event that will only get better as time goes on.
