Wild Video: Helmet-Cam Ride on a Nitro Harley – Stopping is Scary!

Wild Video: Helmet-Cam Ride on a Nitro Harley – Stopping is Scary!

Tommy Grimes is a legend amongst the small fraternity of nitro Harley racers. He’s been there and done it about 50 times during this career. He’s raced for some of the greatest names in the sport, like Ray Price to throw one out. All of that experience adds up to a guy who knows how to properly get himself out of a sticky situation. This video proves it.

Grimes is racing at the legendary Piedmont Dragway. As you’ll see in the video, the rider in the other lane gets out and just runs flat away from him. The racing portion of the lap was slow, but uneventful. The stopping part of the lap gets interesting and Grimes avoids certain diaster a couple of times before finally managing to haul his steed down.

We maintain that Nitro Harley riders are all escaped mental patients.

Poor handling and bad brakes are just part of the experience of owning a Harley Davidson.
