Lights Out 10 Coverage: The x275 Class Provided One Heck Of A Show As Well, Here’s Every Elimination Run!

While the Radial vs The World category dominates headlines during the Lights Out 10 weekend, the x275 category is not too far behind it with drama and action on the track. The cars are running on a 275 width rear tire, are allowed less liberal rules in terms of their weight, suspension, and engine combos when compared to RvW and are still capable of running in the 4.30s (and likely the 4.20s soon) in the eighth mile. With combos like the lightweight, small block, leaf sprung Camaro of Ron Rhodes taking on the wild roots blown Mustang of Andrew DeMarco or the ProCharged machine of the Bruder Brothers, there’s really something for everyone.

There were 70 some entires in the x275 category at Lights Out 10 vying for spots in a 32-car field. Qualifying was hot and heavy and ultimately one of the quickest fields in history was established by the time we were finished locking it in.

Ultimately, Massachusetts’ own Manny Buginga was the ultimate winner in x275. Having recently swapped to ProLine for tuning assistance, he drove the car like a professional and it as well prepared for every run. Manny has been a star in the Ford drag racing world for decades and he continues to lead the pack today!

Watch these runs and see why people dig X275! Oh, and yes, there is a diesel in the class and it hauls ass as well.
