(By Tom Lohnes) – Do you ever feel like a 707-horsepower Ram Rebel TRX or 770-horsepower Shelby F-150 Super Snake isn’t enough? Well, your local Chevy dealers have you covered with an 800-horsepower Yenko S/C Silverado 1500.
Yes, you can now get an 800-horsepower, 700 lb.-ft of torque, LT5 powered light duty Chevy silverado straight off of the showroom floor. This huge dollar option that is installed by the dealer includes an engine swap, a beefier transmission, differentials, and some Michelin sports tires that all help this hot Chevy get to 60 in 3.7 seconds and up to a top speed of 140 miles per hour.
This option can be selected on any trim of the Silverado 1500 with 4WD, so in theory you could have a regular cab short bed with 800 horsepower, which in my eyes is a spiritual successor to the famed GMC Syclone. My personal trim preference would be a high country 4-door with the standard bed, making it a luxurious sport truck. Which one would you get?
No GM regular cab short bed from the factory in the US.
Ford will let you…
Ram won’t let you get a regular cab in a 1/2 ton. Same with Toyota.
Personally wouldn’t consider a Nissan if they did.
Bring back a modern version of the 454SS…just with more than 230hp!!!
Rather have the Margay go-kart.
Unfortunately it’s still ugly as a monkey’s butt.
It’s still a ugly ass GM truck.
You can put as much lipstick on it as you want, but GM still builds the ugliest pickups on the market today.
Haven’t seen that much bad plastic and ugly curves since I turned on the tv and seen .5 seconds of the Kardashian’s show.
