Looking For A Challenge? This 1967 427 Corvette Is More Complete Than It’s Ugliness Implies

If you are the type of hot rodder that looks to be challenged and plays the long game to produce outstanding results, this car is for you. You’re looking at a 1967 427 Corvette and the car may look like something out of a movie but the more you look at this thing the more complete it seems to be. Yes, the body seems as though it was used as a prop but the original drivetrain is included, original chassis, even the original chambered side pipe exhaust. This is also one of those cars that makes you scratch your chin when it comes to how it was built. The 390hp 427 was optioned but it was backed with a three speed manual transmission. Wait, what?! The 390hp engine was the more tame of the big blocks but who skips the four speed?!

We don’t know what the end result would be in terms of value on a car like this but we do know that whoever takes the car on will have plenty of time in it, we’re also trying to figure out what happened to the nose and other parts of the body. It is like they were torn off. Seems weird to see the fluffy fiberglass strands of the body just exposed like they are. Maybe that’s just us.

Now, the car will need a body. The original ‘glass has been stripped off the chassis. Does that negatively impact the value if the car has been rebodied? It is an interesting question. Original mechanical everything but a brand new wrapper. What do you think? Worth the $17,000?

eBay: This 1967 Corvette is a project for the ages – 390h0 427 car!

Already saw this some where else. To begin with OEM fiberglass panels that make up these 1967 vette bodies are no longer available at all any where and have not been for a long time. After market one piece are ok if being used on a race car but have no value other wise. An engine that has gone through severe fire can be of little use afterwards, just depends after inspection. Make a list of every part needed, interior, wiring, suspension, maybe engine, and it’s a bug number with a lot of zeros and again with after market fiberglass has little value to collectors. Seller is a dreamer. Not everything is worth rebuilding, and if this sale is after an insurance payout it would almost have to be rebuilt title. Again seller is dreaming. I hope no one is dumb enough to buy this any any price.

Anyone who has an interest in restoring old Vettes should take note of the Vin # and spread it far and wide. Bob is correct, there are no body parts available other than cheap, light weight, racing parts. Any “rebuild” of this would be a SCAM.

427 3 speed & no other options? Sounds like a dealer’s window dressing. Since when is being burnt to the ground considered “no accidents”

Come on, it’s just a corvette. Only barret jackson thinks they’re valuable and a couple dozen people with more money than brains buys these things. To hear it from some, every car chevy made starting with a “c” is now rare and valuable…starting with the corvette. Then there’s the chevelle, corvair, chevy II, c10, corisca, and last but not least, hold on…chevette. Fools gold!

I know I\’m just a dumb-ass but how can these guys say that there are no body parts avail anywhere for sure? All the other corvettes made that year have been accounted for? There couldn\’t possibly be a wrecked one somewhere in somebody\’s barn or backyard somewhere that somebody wrecked and was planning on fixing themselves someday? Everybody gives up so quickly. Of course, the price does seem a bit high for such damage but with the internet expanding so much every day , it just seems more likely that if someone was dedicated to the cause it s just a matter of time till they connect with someone who has what they need. It could be as simple as someone reading a story, kinda like I did here, but they happen to have a 1967 427 corvette in their backyard that was wrecked and they thought they were gonna fix but decides to make the call instead. Happens every day. I guess it comes down to your dedication, patience, and how much you really want it. I wish I had the money to buy it, just to show the \”experts\” how bad was my 1967 corvette turned out. Bet you they\’d want it then
