Perfection: This 1975 Mustang II Was Built As An Open Track Day Car And It’s Great – It’s Also Cheap

You think we’re joking, right? I mean, look at this 1975 Mustang II, who could possibly want to own this thing? Yes, this 1975 Mustang II was built as an open track day car and that’s exactly what it is right now. Its running, driving, roll-caged, packing a brand new Ford Performance crate engine, a top loader, and a face only a mother could love. The best part? $5,000 takes it home and you could run it at the track tomorrow.

This is one of those “zig when everyone else zags” type of cars that we have loved here from the first day we published blog items back in 2008. Why? This thing gives ZERO EFFS about impressing anyone with looks and we’re for sure that the rumbling small block, the top loader, the tweaked suspension, and stiffened chassis are beyond the most fun thing ever on the track.

The door glass and mechanisms have been removed, there are no headlights as the buckets are used for brake ducting, it is rolling around on 245 wide tires on the corners, and it just strikes us as the kind of car you could open track, autocross, or generally mess around with in any automotive capacity and have a ball.

Seriously, $5,000 bucks is an insane steal here it seems.

Sure you can’t be concerned with impressing the chicks with its exterior but imagine waxing some stroke on the road course with this car and the nuclear bomb of bad feelings that would deliver! All the details here –

If it weren’t for the complete lack of dents, I’d mistake this for a dirt track car.

No notes on the suspension mods, which would be useful to know for a track day weapon. Looks like it would need more safety equipment for Champ Car or other wheel to wheel events.

    Still an interesting find.
