Watch Rod Millen Attack The 2002 Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb In His Insane Pikes Peak Celica

Rod Millen is one of the baddest engineers and wheelmen who has ever strapped into a race car. The dude has won in all kinds of different equipment. In different formats, on different continents, and doing a wide range of different racing. This video captures his visit to the 2002 and then a later running of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Both times he brought the heavy guns, hillclimb cars that are the equivalent of showing up to a dodgeball game with a bazooka to play with. The 880hp Toyota you will see first was a revelation at the event because it was the quickest car of the year, out pacing even the mighty open wheel race cars that were attending.

Miller would return a few years later and again head up the hill like a ripsaw in a Toyota. That second time it was a Toyota Tundra hill climb truck that he violently attacked the course with. The center steer driving position is awesome but the way that Millen actually drives the thing is even better. Full on violence chucking the thing into the corners and flat footing his way up at every possible moment. This is totally bad ass.

We say it a lot but the reality is that Goodwood is more than just parade laps. Guys show up there with the equipment and the inclination to win the whole shooting match. Rod Millen has been one of this guys and he shows his chops here in two different rigs. THIS is awesome.
