(Photos by Wes Allison) – When the whole Pro Touring movement got started no one could have legitimately envisioned where it would lead. What began with some guys trying to make their old cars handle better with a mishmash of handmade, aftermarket, and factory parts has grown into an entire genre of hot rodding and an industry in and unto it self. There are not national racing series of these cars and some of the best sporty car drivers in the country have classic, V8 powered cars that can bend corners with the best of them.

The 2017 Street Machine and Muscle Car Nationals autocross was way more about getting out and having fun than it was for proving that you had the baddest pro touring car in the world and because of that a ton of people participated and made runs. If you are ever at a show and they have one of these you need to get on it! It does not matter if your car is a whale or machine designed to clip apexes, this is big fun!
