(Photos and words by Doug Gregory) – Cars on carpet does not necessarily mean they are never driven or beat on, but typically if they are it is very lightly. Most in elaborate displays don’t move much more than to/from the trailer. That’s okay….we didn’t shoot a bunch of those. We photograph stuff more in-line with our personal taste. This means no donks or any vehicle sporting aftermarket wheels over 20”.
You also won’t see any with under-glow lighting installed on the vehicle. No lifted trucks with low-profile tires. Most-definitely no cars with Lambo doors that weren’t actually equipped with them from the factory. I don’t want to damage my eyes looking at that stuff and I don’t want to risk yours either. In here we do have some late-model horsepower up to and including the first Demon I have seen in person. Sits high. I kinda like that. It’s not too ducky and because the car runs out better than…..anything, it passes muster.
The Mary Kay pink Vette actually had a heavy dose of metallic in it so when the light caught it right the thing didn’t look bad. Any angle where you didn’t get that glitter…..it was not flattering. One of the best, crazy creations I’ve seen in a while is this Buick-powered small-window bug. Great execution and it keeps the theme going throughout. Would have liked to hear it run.
I’ve included a few of the vehicles that were part of the F&F display. I did this because I thought some of the readers would want to see them. For certain it is a selfless sacrifice on my part. Lastly take a look at this flawless blue ’68 Chevelle SS. It was oddly optioned including power windows. Plenty cool.
Stay tuned for more from the Autorama.
