(By Tom Lohnes) – Two weeks ahead of the reveal, Chevrolet has given us a photo of an undisguised ZO6 Corvette and it looks fantastic.
The car in the photo looks to be a pretty conservatively spec’d ZO6. Finished in Silver Flare Metallic over a dark red interior, this Z is missing the ZO7 performance package that will make it look a lot like the C8.R racecar, and also help it immensely on the track. There is a new set of wheels on the ZO6, which look great compared to the Stingray’s two (in our opinion) not-so-hot factory choices. The front fascia is opened up more to allow more air in and has a nice little chin spoiler that makes it look that much more muscular.
Unlike old ZO6-badged cars that had the badge on the front fender, the new ZO6 places its badge eight under the air intake for the massive V8 laying in the middle of it, Lamborghini-style.
That’s really all we can see at the moment, but I for one am really excited to see this thing. The raw muscle that this car will have, paired with the technology built into it will make the Z06 a global supercar competitor. It gets officially revealed on October 16th, so stay tuned.
