Take A Few Rips Around The Goodguys PPG Nationals Autocross With The 48-Hour Camaro and Bret Voelkel

It was wall to wall awesome during the 2017 Goodguys PPG Nationals in Columbus on the autocross course. From the normal competition classes to the annual sponsor shootout, the best pro touring cars and drivers in the country hammered on a redesigned course for this year’s event. Among them was RideTech chief Bret Voelkel driving the company’s famed 48 Hour Camaro. This car has been a mainstay at a myriad of events since it was built and it has been tweaked on an updated plenty since those early days of the thrash at RideTech’s Jasper, Indiana headquarters.

The video below will show you the car running from both an outside “fan” perspective and then the real fun begins when we get into the car with Bret and not only watch but listen to him get after it for real. The car makes a load of power and it has big rolling stock on the corners. The thing is flatter than a concrete slab in the bends and it rockets out of the corners like its hair is on fire. Bret’s driving style in the car is smooth and you will see him working the wheel like a boss in there.

If you have never attended an autocross with cars like this running, you have missed out. Check the Goodguys calendar on their website or visit RideTech.com to get the low down on their plans for the year!
