Sydney Allard was one heck of a guy. He was the founding father of drag racing in England, was an awesome engineering, and came up with an epic blueprint on how to build a car that people would love. Allard was the first guy to successfully marry the mighty American V8 with the refined and advanced European racing chassis that people needed to win races in the 1950s and early 1960s. His Allard J2 roadsters and racing cars were popular in America and they were built with any number of different engines from Cadillacs to Chrysler hemi examples as well.
The car you are going to see here is a J2R with the R standing for racing. There were street and race models. This particular car has an amazing history as it was once owned by Curtis LeMay, a revolutionary thinker and tactician when it came to air war and someone who ran the US Air Force through some of the toughest days in our history. Power comes from a 331ci Cadillac and it could be the loudest Cadillac powered racing vehicle every built. This thing makes amazing noise both on and off the throttle and your speakers are definitely your friends here to get the whole experience.
Lastly, this car get driven hard with a finishing time of just over 1-minute which is stout on the hill!
