(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – The LAST selection of photos from the Cruisin to a Cure car show in Greendale, IN. Here are the haulers, utility vehicles, grocery-getters, and that sort.
First up is the perfectly-worn burgundy Fairlane wagon our blue Chevy II photo-bombed. This thing had all the right wear in the right places and even smelled the part. Such goodness.
Chevy trucks were out in force and you could choose from many different styles. There were mild survivors, sand draggers, drag trucks, and more.
The blue Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser was a sight to behold with its wood grain, hood, and wheels. More of this please.
Staying on the blue color, the Scion you see in here cannot go without mention. Kayle Knight has ALS and is the owner of this orphan. He won the long-distance award driving 811 miles from his home in Connecticut to attend. Much respect for the effort.
We’ll end this series with the black ’70 GMC stepside which was Carlos Lawrence’s ride. Carlos is the man whose memory this show is dedicated to honoring and raising money to help battle the disease which took his life. I’d say for a teenager orchestrating his first car show, Logan Lawrence hit this one out of the park. In 2018 the show will be at the same location on the 6th of May. You shouldn’t miss it.
Thanks for following along.
