Classic YouTube: The Big Red Dodge – Subtlety Can Take A Hike

Every last thing about this 1990s Dodge is perfect. The shade of red that seemed to be painted on everything Mopar advertised for about this time period. The A-12 style scoop that is trying to funnel air to the 540 cubic inch torque-thumper underneath the hood. The “CNH 320” license plate from Hazzard County on the back. And enough torque that a couple of passes down a dirt drag race course leaves the course looking ready for corn planting. I’ve got a thing for the D-trucks…like the 73-87 GM trucks and the similar-vintage Fords, there is very little that could be wrong with them. Big mill, paddle tires, four-wheel drive and enough grunt makes anything look good…

Ok, I’m rambling. But tell me that this squared-off Dodge isn’t good. The only thing I don’t appreciate about this truck is that it isn’t street legal in any sense. I understand, “race truck”, but I’d love to see this thing rip up the dirt, change tires, and proceed to put some brat in a Mustang right in their place on the way home.

The old square body trucks are what a truck should look like imo . My favorite is the 80-86 f series .
