ALS Cruisin’ For A Cure Car Show Coverage – More Cool Cars, Not Just The Same Old Stuff!

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – More samples from the 400+ attending cars at the Cruisin to a Cure car show in Greendale, IN.

Kicking off this roster is a super-clean BMW M3 sedan with a nicely-installed hair-dryer.  The lack of clutter, wires, hoses and such in this engine compartment really grabbed our attention.  Some serious thought, time, and effort went into this one.  Well done.

We about fell over when we spotted this super-slick 1962 (?) Olds Starfire with its flawless paint and brushed aluminum trim.  This thing was every bit aircraft-inspired with tons of neat touches.  It’s rare for us to see one of these and even more of a treat when they are in this condition.  Why can’t the automakers come up with something like this to knock your socks off today…

The blown, Ecotec-powered, street-legal rail buggy was a sight to behold.  Without a doubt it grabbed our attention and kept it as we checked out the how things were put together.  Definitely a thrill ride.

Brandon Dollar’s boosted LS-motivated Nova appears to be a beast.    With the hood on it would look like just another satin black Nova with a tall cowl hood.  I see lots of those at tracks around this part of the country.  Once the hood is off the monster, exhaust-driven, rotary air compressor and its plumbing come into full view.  This thing is sick and is running on some fairly-narrow rear tires.  Word is he is still ironing out the bugs, but it will definitely get with the program.  Hope to catch it wheels up at a track soon.

Enjoy the photos.  There should be one more group coming…..haulers
