When it comes to names you should know as an informed racing fan, Alan Mann’s is one of them. A guy who went from being a talented wrench and racer to someone who the Ford Motor Company relied on to field all kinds of cars in the 1960s Total Performance era of Ford racing. Starting out by preparing Falcons for the Paris to Monte Carlo rally and eventually being involved in all manner of sports car racing and more, Alan Mann was THE man for FoMoCo when they needed a job done right.
This video tells the story of the operation that still exists today. It is still being operated by the Mann family and as you’ll see that operation still puts a lot of weight behind organization, quality work, and delivering the goods for whoever is footing the bill be it Ford or a guy down the road.
We loved this video because of all the killer historic photos and for the fact that we know more about Alan Mann Racing now than we did before we saw it. A horsepower history lesson here!
