(Photos by Charles Wickam) – Yesterday we dropped our first ever gallery by Charles Wickam at the Lone Star Pro Am Drifting Series down in Texas. Unconfirmed but that may have been the first (definitely ONE of the first) dedicated drifting galleries we have ever run on the site and having posted over a quarter million images at this point in five years, that is saying something. We’re not going to become “DriftShift” anytime soon, but we’re also not going to ignore cool motorsports events where young guys and girls are getting out there and hammering on their stuff…especially when a bunch of it is American V8 swapped.
This gallery has more action photos in it and the photos certainly highlight a diversity of equipment. There are some pro looking cars in here but the vast majority seem to be privateer efforts which are made up of various Japanese cars and even a guy in a Volvo. The Volvo guy gets after it pretty hard and while the setup seems kind of weird, it looks pretty awesome all pitch sideways and out of shape in the corners. The big thing about this series is that the top three drivers after the six race season is completed earn a license to compete in Formula Drift. That’s a shot at legit glory in the drifting world. The series is sponsored by Fabricated Motorsports and you can hunt them down on FB to learn more. As you’ll see, there was a ton of cars and a ton of young people competing. THAT is cool.
Awesome! I love seeing more young people do car related stuff!
Let’s Limo Tint that Volvo, Sweed Drifter won’t mind.
That white Volvo four door is AWESOME & really gets sideways!
that volvo has alot of history, the 17 year old kid driving it was brought home from the hospital in it when he was born
