This Flared Datsun 240Z Would Be Pro Touring Fun Like None Other

There is something so cool about Datsun Z cars, and there always has been. No matter whether stock, on the dragstrip with big tires out back, or with giant flares and super wide tires, they are all cool. This little gem here is really, really, cool and we want nothing more than to wheel it around whatever autocross or road course we can find. It’s tough to look at the original inline 6 and not want to put a turbo on it at least, or swap it for an LS at most, but regardless we’re sure it’s a fun time as is.

And these giant flares, which are so JDM style, really look right on this one. There is something about the look, with these cool wheels, although we’d be adding a bit more tire just to get rid of some of the stretch.

No matter, we think cruising through town we’d be pretty popular in this bad boy.

Lose the bodywork, lose the moronic wheel/tire combo, lose the cage. A similar wheel wearing a 235-70-15 tire would look very nice, and the stock original seats are at least as pleasing to the eye as the ones in the car. The engine is perfect. So’s the color. The car has awesome potential, but needs adult supervision.

I haven’t been following Z cars for a while, but 30 large seems a bit steep. Would much rather put that kind of money into a real Z car. Or as we say in Canada 1969 Zed 28!!!
