American Powertrain’s New C3 Corvette Magnum Swap Is Killer! Watch Chad Talk About It With Them!

American Powertrain’s New C3 Corvette Magnum Swap Is Killer! Watch Chad Talk About It With Them!

We’re big fans of American Powertrain around here. I mean what’s not to love? They are continuing to promote stick shift vehicles being driven and abused like hot rods should be! That’s awesome in our books. With an American Powertrain kit, utilizing awesome transmissions from Tremec, there is no more excuse for not driving your car more than around the block. Regardless of the rear end gear there is an overdrive 5 or 6 speed that will make you enjoy the drive no matter how long. At the same time you are getting increased strength, increased mileage, and at least one more gear to row. Again, that’s a win in our book.

I had the opportunity to go hang out with Robert and Matt and the rest of the crew from American Powertrain earlier in the spring and we shot some installation and product videos in their shop. While I was there I saw this awesome 1969 Corvette that Robert had and got to see first hand what their new Magnum kit is all about in one. This thing shifts like butter, looks stock, handles all the power you could ever want, and requires only one minor modification to the factory transmission crossmember. It’s awesome. Check it out.

I’ve needed their stuff in my sbc MGB to replace my 4-speed since I went big HP ([email protected]) but I have financial constraints at this moment, maybe someday. Am always impressed with how clean their installations are. I know 500hp isn’t a lot in this day of 1000hp street cars but in my little roadster 500hp is pretty sporty.

Really nice description of the rear crossmember installation. Too bad we didn’t actually get to see it!
