There have been several times when I was looking at a project and trying to stuff as much tire under it, that I realized there just wasn’t any more room underneath and that the fenders would need to be flared if we were going to fit them. The possibility of changing the chassis and inside structure is just not always feasible. But then Widebody became a thing. In recent years people have been making wide body everything and that certainly helps with covering big tires. Plus, the shape of your typical wide body conversion isn’t trying to just look like a wider stock vehicle, but rather something that has accentuated or exaggerated lines via molded on or bolted on “over fenders”. So when I saw some of the things Kordare was doing online in his home shop I thought that this guy had some creativity. Well one of these projects is his air ride equipped Wide Body Mustang. It’s not outrageously wide, but it’s wider for sure. And the way he did it is pretty creative. I wouldn’t do all of it exactly the same, but several of his methods fit right in line with things I’ve done or suggested, especially up front.
