Project Binky Episode 16 Is Here! We Never Imagined An All-Wheel Drive Old School Mini Cooper Could Excite Us This Much

When we saw the first episode of Project Binky, we felt a certain sense of intrigue for the crazy Brits that thought merging a classic Mini Cooper with a late model turbocharged Toyota Celica was a good idea. After seeing their amazing CAD (Cardboard Aided Drafting) techniques and the precision with which their planning and execution were performed, you couldn’t help but wonder what they were capable of with serious tools rather than the simple stuff they seemed to be relying on. Nothing could have prepared us for the adventure that has led to what is almost a completed car. And we love them for it.

Every single aspect of Project Binky is built to perform, but not at the expense of looking good as well. Form and function go hand in hand. But when it is done it is going to be one bad ass little Rally car.

Watch Episode 16 and enjoy. We can’t wait for the next one!

As much as I love these two extremely talented lunatics I can’t help thinking why they just didn’t modify the Celica floor pan to fit under the Mini body – but where would the fun be in that?

The BEST car show in British history and I can’t wait to see what their next project will be. That’s if Binky ever gets finished….

I take it that you have never rebuilt a car from the ground up to how you want it, and what it takes to get all of your modifications to work the way you want them to.
Better yet since you are in Britain, why don’t you take your ass over there and help them with the car?

I love this build and wait patiently for them to release each new episode. The workmanship and engineering is amazing. Sure the welding isn’t the greatest but their ability to design and fabricate is remarkable. Especially when you consider they use an angle grinder and cut off wheel for virtually everything. I love the fact the rotating build “apparatus” gets just as much attention as the car itself. I also appreciate the little segment in Ep 16 where they show how long it takes to make a bracket. Keep that in mind when you look at the front end tilt assembly and the packaging in general.Funniest guys on You Rube at the moment.

As impressed as I am by their skill as fabricators, I’m even more impressed by them as presenters in making these videos. They are endlessly entertaining while making some fairly technical points easily understandable.
