There’s nothing like a legit car chase in a movie, right? We can go right down the line of some of the greats and they have all ben talked about, analyzed, broken down, and beat into dust. But what if we told you about how they evolved and how those early and awesome car chases ended up leading us to the wildness of today? This video does a really good job of telling that story. The story of how car chases have simply evolved from stunt drivers on the streets to some of the most mechanically and technologically advanced parts of movie production. It isn’t all about CGI, it is not all about faking out the audience, but it is all about taking us where we shouldn’t be able to go to see things that we should never be able to see. Movie magic!
We’re most impressed with the various camera rigs that have been developed and refined by engineers and gearheads over the years. Let’s face it, you don’t get into the car chase end of the movie business because you like bird watching. You get into this part of the realm because you love cars, you love pushing the limits, and you love making cars both heroic and downright bad ass on film.
