Caution: Watching These Videos Of Brazilian Formula Truck Crashes Will Likely Leave YOU Sore

(By Eric Rood) – In the U.S., we’re accustomed to big wrecks on super speedways with 3,500-pound, 200 mph stock cars. That’s a lot of energy to dissipate and, by and large, most stock cars are built stoutly enough that we seldom worry about it. So what happens when a pair of five-ton trucks tangle at 70 mph? Some high school physics will tell you the forces are about equal so it should be a similar tale.

Except not really. This Brazilian Formula Truck crash happened in 2010 and it’s still one of the most insane things you’ll ever see. The cameras don’t catch the whole incident, but you do see former F1 driver Bruno Junqueira in his blue truck literally knocking the cab off Diumar Bueno’s ride, leaving him to tumble inside the caged cab while the truck chassis rolls away. Meanwhile, Junqueira goes cab-first into the tire wall with a frighteningly abrupt stop. Amazingly, Bueno emerges first, unscathed, while Junqueira eventually works from the wreckage and also walks away from the crumpled trucks.

Bueno, by the way, was involved in another incredible Formula Truck wreck when the brakes on his rig failed at maximum speed. He survived that wreck (bottom), too, but not without breaking both legs and an arm.
