Drifty Dozen: The Finale Of The 2020 Drift Week At The Hoonigan Burnyard

To this day, we still see a ton of negativity regarding drifting. I’m not here to change anybody’s mind, but there is no way that I’m going to ignore anything that involves a ton of power, driver skill that has to be above par in order to keep sheetmetal from getting wrinkled, and seems to be more about having fun than it is about some technical detail or making the sponsors happy. Drifting is just one of those events for me…get in car, nuke tires with some flair, make fans happy. Love it or hate it, it is what it is.

Drift Week is exactly what you might have pictured: a journey across the U.S.A., hitting up tracks along the way. Ran by Lone Star Drift and sponsored by Enkei wheels, Drift Week runs from Texas to California over ten days and seven tracks. The cars have to play similar to the Drag Week rules, which is a small trailer is your support channel and you have to be street-legal. With drivers of all sorts, from YouTubers to a team from Austraila, it does sound like a great time. But hey, when you have something like that in your backyard, why not invite them out to your own personal playground for some antics?
