eBay Find: This 1963 Buick Wildcat Is Pure, Classy, 1960s Perfection – Amazing Car

In the 1960s, Buicks were aspirational cars. GM’s tiered branding had people come in on one end of the scale as a young buyer and by the time they were an established, successful adult they worked their way up the scale. Those steps all had identity, had a feel, and had an image to them. Buicks were upscale performance cars that you could drive your wife around in and would also lay rubber for as long as the guy behind the wheel wanted.

This is one of those cars and it is one of the finest examples of those cars that we have ever seen. The Wildcat was a performance coupe that had all the bells and whistles that Buick owners wanted. An interior trunk popper? Got it! A 401ci Nailhead? Got it! lots of copper paint, chrome, and stainless steel? Got it, got it, got it! The interior is fantastic and like everything else about this car it looks 100% perfect and true to stock.

While we love our modified stuff around there, there are certain cars you look at and just appreciate them in stock form. We’re not sure a 1963 Buick Wildcat would look right in a pro touring style or in a pro street style, etc. These cars were not racers per se but rather boulevard bruisers for people who wanted to bridge the gap between performance and luxury. The old “going fast with class” mantra from Buick is perfectly suited to this car.

The asking price is basically $39,000. We’re not sure what these are selling for at auctions but that seems like a pretty good deal if you were buying this to drive, keep, and cherish for a long time. They didn’t build tons of these cars and they certainly aren’t making anymore. What do you think? Worth the money?
