(Words and photos by Kaleb Kelley) – Everybody has been talking about the Hellcat since it was first announced last year. Everybody is getting to see the car they’ve been drooling over on the internet as they begin to be delivered. The Challengers have been spotted all over the place, but the Charger’s haven’t been out in the wild yet…until now.
My dad, Ken, just picked up his 2015 Hellcat Charger from Hoyte Dodge in Sherman, TX. Immediately after picking it up, he took the Hellcat and burned some rubber like it’s meant to! Here’s the video for you guys (scroll down for the video!)
The Hellcat is absolutely killer and has met every expectation that I had for it. He chose my absolute favorite color combo that Dodge had available. The color is called Ivory Pearl Tri-coat and looks absolutely killer compared to a plain white. The Brass Monkey BBS sourced wheels are ideal and Dodge deserves some serious prop for these. Inside, you’ll spot the Sepia Laguna leather that feels nicer than anything you would expect from a domestic manufacturer.
I didn’t expect to like the 8-speed automatic because it feels like too many speeds, but in practice it is very nice. If you punch it, it downshifts immediately to the proper gear and seems to always stay in the strong point of the power band. It blows my mind how hard this thing throws you back in your seat when you blip the throttle. Unless you want to be constantly smoking the tires, the sport mode of traction control is strongly recommended.

Would have been a cool video EXCEPT I watched the latest “Roadkill” video yesterday.
Yeah. Very cool, but not “Hellcat vs. Hellcat. vs. Viper 3-Way Tug-Of-War Burnout” cool.
I had to turn off the Roadkill video after the 4 door Hellcat was run off road. I can deal with killing tires & (although I was squeamish when it looked like the cars might rub bumpers) the three way tug of war was funny , but beating on a brand new street car (or at least a new-ish press fleet car) off road and ripping pieces off of it was too much for me to bear.
Aussie APPROVED. It’s a MORE Door, and blazes the hides!
And it’s supercharged. I know you Aussies like your blowers.
