Featured Product: Ridetech’s New Bolt-In Fox Body Mustang Independent Rear Suspension System Is Available And Awesome!

It wasn’t all that long ago that your only choices for an independent rear suspension in your hot rod or muscle car were either a C4 Corvette system or a Jaguar style system. And while both are pretty simple in their design, they aren’t exactly at home under everything. So if you want to take a Fox Body Mustang and make it into the ultimate Pro Touring machine, it takes some real work if you want it to have an independent rear suspension. In most cases that work involves heavy modifications to the floors and chassis, but not anymore. Now you can have your cake and eat it too, thanks to this all new bolt in rear IRS conversion for Fox Body Mustangs.

Will it work on other Fox Bodies? I’m not sure, but I’d sure love to try and stuff one in a Fairmont!

Here’s all the info from Ridetech, plus video showing the install.

Fox Body Mustang IRS System

Ridetech is pleased to announce the release of their bolt-in IRS system for Fox Body Mustangs. Independent rear suspensions are superior in almost every way when going left and right, but before now, the biggest concerns with IRS have been cost and ease of installation.
Ridetech’s IRS system is specifically designed for 1979-1993 Fox Body Mustangs, delivering premium ride quality and many additional benefits to the platform. The 100% bolt-in kit utilizes 2015-2024 Mustang driveline components to deliver high-strength, OE reliability, and modern performance. Designed to accept an S550 center section, the system also uses shortened S550 axles (sold separately) and OEM S550 hubs. Tubular upper and lower A-arm construction keep weight down and strength up.
Ridetech’s in-house designed hub spindles are constructed of ductile iron and feature a durable, black e-coat finish. Included S550 hubs allow the bolt-on installation of OEM S550 (2015-2024) or SN95 (1994-2004) brake packages with Ridetech caliper brackets. The IRS cradle and tubular arms feature a durable and pristine powder coat finish providing corrosion resistance and great looks.
For an unstoppable combination, this IRS system was designed to work alongside Ridetech’s recently released SLA (Short Long Arm) front suspension assembly. That system (part #12122600) replaces the OEM MacPherson strut assembly for a superior double wishbone design, drastically enhancing front end grip and performance.
