Footloose And Fancy-Free: Watch Bartosz Ostałowski Whip His Skyline Around Like Fred Astaire!

A Fred Astaire reference on BangShift…wow, that’s a reach. Or is it? You see, Astaire’s most well-remembered feature wasn’t his singing or his acting, but it was the way in which he could command his feet to do things that seemed graceful, deliberate and completely artful. You want to know what I see when I look at my feet? A reminder to watch The Hobbit sometime. The feet are brutal instruments that are meant to move us around as best as possible. Art isn’t supposed to come from them, But in certain situations when you have no other choice, the feet shall suffice if you train yourself properly.

For Bartosz Ostałowski, his feet are the only way he can get things done. A motorcycle accident took his arms, yet what he can do with his feet is more than most people can handle with arms, legs, hands, feet and someone who knows what they are doing yelling out instructions at them with a bullhorn. Here, he gives Dan and Hert from Hoonigan a tour of his R34 Skyline drift car that incorporates some neat tricks to help Ostalowski cope with the needs of a drift driver. You’ll see four pedals on the floor. From right to left, you have E-brake, throttle, foot brake, and a pedal that is hooked to his harness, allowing emergency egress in case it’s required. Lots of neat tech, but it is still just too cool to watch him drift with just his feet!
