Fun Video: Enduro Destruction, Amateur Two Wheeled Car Skiing, Roll Over Contest, More!

Well I think most of us roll our eyes when we see cars getting destroyed for nothing but the owner’s entertainment, I’m of the mindset that regular cars, jalopies, junkers, and high milage crap can meet a dignified end on a race track. If you agree with that sentiment, you’ll totally understand my fondness for the video below. Taken at Maine’s Beech Ridge Speedway last summer, it shows highlights from a night called “Car Wars” and as the name suggests it is as off the wall as you think that it is. Between a destruction derby style enduro to amateur car skiing, ramp jumps for anyone who felt like participating, a roll over contest, and whatever else you can call the rest of the stuff you’re about to see, there was lots of entertainment and lots of twisted steel at the end of the night.

While the majority of the cars and trucks were heading to the big scrap heap in the sky anyway, we’re not really crying for them (unless you count the tears from laughter) as we watch the film below. There’s one guy who dominates the roll over situation and when his SUV does not end up rubber side down on the second attempt he jumps out and starts playing air guitar something fierce. Kid’s got spunk.

We’re guessing the one guy who skis the S10 truck completely around the oval and between the tire barriers is a ringer but it is impressive to watch nonetheless. As you will see from the start of the video, the racing action seems to have absolutely no rules. It is like automotive UFC and the results are perhaps even more fun to watch than that sport.

Circle tracks across America do this stuff all summer. They pack the stands when they do it. We’d pay a nickel to see this show for sure.
