(Photo credit: Jason Brady/RideTech) – We’re back with more killer photos from the 2015 Goodguys Lone Star Nationals autocross thanks to the guys at RideTech. In this batch of photos you’ll see something you’d expect to see in Texas…trucks! Boy if the truck side of the pro touring world was hot the last couple of years, it may be going full nuclear now because there are some mean looking rigs in these photos (including that flat black Dodge below!) that are cornering flat and working pretty well. RideTech has been part of the exploding C10 scene for ages now and continues to be on the cutting edge of the pro touring world with their new lineup of Corvette parts (showcased during the 48 hour Corvette build).

What we know everyone will agree on is the fact that this whole pro touring and autocross thing that some people had written off as a fad is big, getting bigger, and will be here to stay for a long, long time. Whenever we see new body styles of types of cars showing up at events like this it gets us excited because it means that another “wall” is being broken down and more people are seeing this as a good time. For example, the Dodge and Ford trucks you see here are matched by GMC and Chevy trucks from different eras than you would suspect. When guys are building stuff like that to turn, you know this deal is serious.

You don’t have to do a Camaro or a Mustang…you have options and that means you can get into a project cheaper with a less loved body style, bolt on your parts and tear it up. C3/C4 Corvettes are almost free right about now and as has been shown right here on BangShift over the last couple of weeks, you have some real hardcore options to get those things up to snuff for big fun. Click here to see RideTech’s lineup of Corvette parts.

  1. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

When I was a young’un, I used to watch autocross in the UK.

It was held on muddy or dusty fields and was like high speed demolition derbies.

What we call your sad version of it is auto-tests – none of these cars would have lasted one lap!

    Nice cars though they are….

And can I assume that you have built one of these “sad versions”, and raced it competitively to come to your conclusion?
