Is Lamborghini For Sale? If It Isn’t Will It Be Sold And Kept On Pistons And Gasoline?

Is Lamborghini For Sale? If It Isn’t Will It Be Sold And Kept On Pistons And Gasoline?

(By Tom Lohnes) – Someone really wants to buy Lamborghini. A few days ago, an unnamed Swiss group offered $9.6 Billion dollars for the famed Italian marque. VW group, the current owners of Lamborghini, didn’t like that offer, so they turned it down. The group has upped their offer, and it is an astronomical number.

Offering $11.2 Billion, the unknown group is getting dangerously close to $12 Billion, which is the company’s whole net worth. The intentions of the potential buyer are unknown, but I don’t think it is a coincidence that this offer popped up just weeks after VW group vowed to go all-electric in the next decade. The deal involves a direct purchase of the company and rights to all of their current models, including the ones in development. They also want their current factory in Italy and a parts supply from Audi to continue production of the Urus and Huracan.

So, they want a lot. And it would be interesting to see Lamborghini not being owned by a massive megacompany like VW group. Who knows, maybe we’ll see more V10 and v12 powered supercars and hypercars for years to come. Or, they’ll go all-electric nearly immediately. I’m hoping on option 1.
